Lasik: More info
Using the precise beam of the excimer laser, Dr. Jerry Maida carefully reshapes the curvature of the cornea so that it focuses light correctly on the retina. This reshaping takes place on a microscopic level, involving the removal of layers of cells thinner than a human hair. The laser does not actually burn the cells away, but merely breaks the molecular bonds between the cells. The cool ultraviolet beam of light produced by the excimer laser is so precise that each pulse removes only 39 millionths of an inch of tissue!

IntraLase®: More info
At Maida CustomVision, we are pleased to offer our patients the Next Generation LASIK procedure. It's called "IntraLASIK", one of the most exciting breakthroughs in refractive surgery history. With no mechanical incisions required, our All-Laser IntraLASIK procedure is less invasive and offers patients unprecedented safety & precision.

CustomCornea: More info
CUSTOMCORNEAź has successfully corrected the vision of over 6 million people. An estimated 98% of these patients now see 20/20 to 2/40 without glasses. Just being able to read the 20/20 line doesn't necessarily mean you have excellent vision though, especially if the letters you identify are not crisp and clear. Conventional laser vision correction can only address the visual distortions that account for about 85-90% of the quality of vision.

Photo Refractive Keratectomy (PRK): More info
PRK (Photo Refractive Keratectomy) is a surface treatment. Rather than create a flap, the epithelial cells, which cover the cornea, are removed. The reshaping of the cornea with the excimer laser is then done, just as in Lasik.

Conductive Kertoplasty: More info
CK is the first non-laser procedure for farsightedness. CK uses the controlled release of radio frequency (RF) energy, instead of a laser or scalpel, to reshape the cornea.  CK is a safe, minimally invasive alternative procedure to laser for farsighted patients. CK is fast: The procedure is performed in just under three minutes.
